Vacation bible school

Spin the spinner, beat the clock, skip ahead, level up, and play to win! You'll need to bring your A-game for this VBS. Twists & Turns is a fantasitcal celebration of games of all kinds. From classic tabletop games to video games and more, kids will play their way through VBS while learning that Jesus guides them through all the twists and turns of their lives. They'll find that even when they mess up it's never "game over."

Volunteer Opportunities with LPBC:

We have multiple opportunities to volunteer with our church and mission teams during Ironman week. Please use this form to see what opportunities are available and to let us know where you want to volunteer. You can also let us know on this form if you plan to help on race day. 


If you do plan to help on race day, you must also sign up through the official IMLP volunteer website at https://bit.ly/imlpvolunteers. This is where you will fill out the required Ironman volunteer waiver form and sign up for specific locations & times on race day. You will also submit your t-shirt size here.

2021 Challenge

On January 3rd, Pastor Jim challenged the body to choose Higher Ground for 2021.  Each month there will be a goal set to work toward living on higher ground. For more details, click here. For the month of March, we are reading each day's corresponding Proverb together. The idea of higher ground comes from a hymn; to hear a beautiful rendition click here.

Online gathering

Along with our Sunday livestream, we are offering a weekly Zoom meeting where we can connect and catchup with each other.  It is scheduled for Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. Click here to join. This is a fellowship gathering where Pastor Jim can answer questions and you can share with each other your experience, needs and concerns during the COVID-19 experience.  Of course these are not meant to replace a personal conversation with Pastor Jim.  If you desire to speak with him can be reached by phone at 518-523-2008 or by email at pastorjimkoenig@gmail.com.

  • Sunday Morning

    Our Sunday morning services provide an opportunity to bring all of our Community Groups together and share in a time of celebration of what God is doing in our lives. Because each of our daily routines are so different, our Sunday services are a special time to bring us all together and tell stories and struggles to the entire August church so we can worship God and pray to Him for our communities.

    Our Community Groups are the heart of our church.  We believe that if we are not demonstrating Christ's love in our most comfortable environment, it will be impossible to love God and others with our whole lives. Sincerity, openness and respect help lead our groups, along with leaders who have risen and been established by God through the elders of our church. We highly encourage everyone who calls August Church their home to be involved in a home group in their local neighborhood.

A place to contribute

We are passionate about showing you who Jesus is. Whether it is in our own neighborhood or across the globe, we can tangibly express God’s love for humanity through our outreach projects and mission trips. Join us as we extend our mission beyond our walls and share the love of Jesus in our local and global community. We are strategic about reaching the greater Austin area for Christ in a number of ways, and we've highlighted one of our ministries below.

We also feel it is important for our members to take their faith outside our church walls and to make an impact for Jesus Christ, not only in our community but around the world. God has called our church to serve the countries of Thailand and Cuba.

Looking for Ways to Serve?

We are always in need of great people to serve on Sundays. Since we only have one service, we understand that serving can be a big sacrifice to you and your family. We encourage every person that calls August Church their home to serve at least one Sunday a month.


We always need great people for our Youth Ministry, but there are also big needs in our Missions Team, Worship and Hospitality ministries. If you are interested in serving on a Sunday morning, please let us know!



VOLUNTEER TO SERVE

August Kids

Each Sunday, you can check your child into our Youth Ministry. We want your kids to have an awesome time at church too, so we have some dedicated (and gifted) individuals who give their Sundays to pour into your kids!


Here's what a typical Sunday looks like:

Either a wristband will be filled out by parents or they will be asked to check-in on the computer and print out a name tag. A claim tag will then be given or printed for parents to present at check-out. Both formats will include your child’s name as well as information regarding specific allergies. From there you will walk them to their age-specific classroom.
