Acts 2:17 "'And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;" In 2019 we are asking the Lord for fresh vision and new dreams for Lake Placid Baptist Church. Second Peter
We begin 2020 with Peter’s last letter. In prison awaiting execution, Peter pins these as his final encouragement to the church in Asia Minor. The epistle begins with his greeting, 2 Peter 1:2, “May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” The letter ends with this challenge, 2 Peter 3:18, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. “ In these, we find Peter's main thrust that we would have a deepen knowledge in the Lord who loved us and died for us.

Beginnings
Fall 2018 Pastor Jim began preaching a series from the book of Genesis. We will together take a look at how Genesis creates the foundation for the rest of scripture's narrative. The word advent comes from a Latin word that means coming. Advent reminds us of those who waited for the birth of a coming king. Even today we wait for the return of our king, Jesus Christ. Advent will climax at our Christmas Eve Candlelight service rejoicing together, the Savior born.
